The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia sent a note of  solidarity and support to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia on the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of the Fatherland.

The note, in particular, reads:

"The tragic events that begun on August 14, 1992, will forever remain an unhealed wound for the people of Abkhazia. At the cost of enourmous losses and sacrifies, having demonstrated exceptional courage, heroism and patriotism, the people of Abkhazia won a decisive victory and defended their right to peaceful life.

On August 6, 2024, the Kiev regime launched a massive terrorist attack against Kursk Region of Russia, with AFU units supported by armored vehicles going on the offensive to take over a part of territory of Sudzhansky district. These criminal actions have claimed human lives, including those of civilian population, and resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure.

On August 8, commemorative events, dedicated to the 16th anniversary of the beginning of the military aggression of Georgia against South Ossetia were held in foreign agencies of the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry.

On 7-8 August, commemorative events, dedicated to the 16th anniversary of the beginning of the Georgian military aggression against South Ossetia, are being held in the Republic of South Ossetia.

Sixteen years ago, in the night from 7th to 8th August 2008, armed forces of Georgia, trained by the “collective West” in accordance with NATO standards, being fully supported by those countries, launched a massive shelling of sleeping Tskhinval using large-caliber weapons and the Grad missiles. The major strike was made on the Ossetian militia, a large part of the South Ossetian army. Russian peacekeepers were also attacked, despite the protection by international mandate.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev extended a congratulatory note to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Sergey Shamba on the occasion of his appointment to the post.

The note, in particular, reads:

On August 6, a press conference of Akhsar Dzhioev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, was held in the press center of the State Committee for Information and Press.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev extended a congratulatory letter to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov on the occasion of his jubilee.

The letter, in particular, reads:

On August 2, President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev hosted a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev.

On July 21, in framework of the visit to Nicaragua, a meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev with Adviser to the President of the Republic of Nicaragua on Investments, Trade and International Cooperation Laureano Ortega Murillo was held in Managua.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev sent congratulatory notes to Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic Faisal al-Mekdad and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation Bashar al-Jaafari on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Syrian Arab Republic.

On July 20, in framework of the visit to Nicaragua, Akhsar Dzhioev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, met with Denis Moncada Colindres, Minister of Foreign affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Nicaragua Narim Kozaev participated in the meeting.
