The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev sent a congratulatory letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Inal Ardzinba on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the Republic of Abkhazia by the Russian Federation.
The letter, in particular, reads:
“The recognition of the sovereignty of South Ossetia and Abkhazia by the Russian Federation became a logical and fair result of the many-years lasting struggles of our nations for freedom and the right to live and create in native lands. That great feat imposes special obligations on us to preserve peace and stability and to maintain dynamic development of our states for the future generations.
Today, the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia successfully strengthen their public institutions and steadily move on the path of peace and progress. I am expressing my confidence that the long-lasting fraternal ties between our nations would further promote strengthening and extension of the bilateral interstate cooperation.”
