On 24 April Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A.M. Dzhioev received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of South Ossetia A.M. Elbakiev.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia sent a congratulatory message to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia O.M. Bartsits on the occasion of appointment to the high state post of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.

On 19 April in Tskhinval an exchange of diplomas on ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation on settlement of issues of dual citizenship, signed on 20 September 2021 in Tskhinval took place.
On April 18, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A.M. Dzhioev took part in the round table ‘Bridges of Cooperation, Dialogue of Cultures’, which was held at the Russian House in Brussels within the framework of the Days of Ossetian Culture in Europe.

Today, a significant holiday, the Constitution Day is celebrated in South Ossetia.
On April 8, 2001, following the results of the all-national referendum, a new Constitution was adopted in the Republic of South Ossetia. The people of South Ossetia have made their choice in favor of an independent democratic future of the state and have determined the strategic vector of the state’s development for many years.
On April 7, President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev held a working visit with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev.
The Foreign Minister reported on the work that had been done and the main aspects of current activities.
Cooperation with the Russian Federation was among the key agenda points of the conversation.
In an interview with a Georgian channel Imedi TV, the Prime Minister of Georgia I. Kobakhidze, commenting on the topic of relations with Abkhazia and South Ossetia in the context of restoring Georgia’s territorial integrity, stated that this “will become a reality if Tbilisi shows patience and we are guided by that patience in our policy.”
It is obvious that in the light of the ongoing protest actions bythe Georgian opposition since last autumn, speculation has beenincreasing on the restoration of the so-called territorial integrity of Georgia.
