The ceremony of inauguration of the elected President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro took place in Caracas on January 10.
In the building of the National Assembly of Venezuela the elected President took the oath in presence of members of the Parliament, representatives of the Government and the public.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, Akhsar Dzhioev, and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion of the coming New Year.
In the messages, the Ministers addressed the kindest and warmest New Year greetings and wishes for a happy New Year.
On December 26, an extended format meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, at which the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev summed up the work of the Ministry in the outgoing year and outlined the main tasks for 2025.
During the meeting the Minister touched upon the main activities of the Foreign Ministry and foreign institutions of the Ministry in 2024.

On 5-6 December, the 31st meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE Ministerial Council) was held in Valletta, Malta.
On 16 December, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev received the new Head of the Representative Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Republic of South Ossetia Said Assadullah.
On December 12, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A. M. Dzhioev attended a reception on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Nicaragua, as well as the 9th anniversary of the establishment of Friendship Day between the two states, which was held at the Cultural Centre of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
