On September 1-3, commemorative events are held in Ossetia for the victims of the monstrous terrorist attack in Beslan. 19 years ago, on September 1, 2004, a group of terrorists numbering more than 30 people seized school No. 1 in Beslan, where a festive lineup was taking place at that time. The terrorists drove 1,128 hostages into the gym of the school and held them there for three days without water and food. As a result of the terrorist attack, unprecedented in its cruelty, 334 people were killed, including 186 children. The employees of law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Emergency Situations were also killed. 810 people were injured various.
On September 3, an action in memory of the victims of the Beslan tragedy was held in Tskhinval on the Cathedral Square near the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Virgin Mother.
Hundreds of not indifferent people, heads of ministries and departments, members of parliament, public representatives, residents and guests of South Ossetia came to honor the memory of the innocent victims of the terrorist attack.
The event was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev and employees of the Ministry.
Attenders honored the memory of the victims of the tragedy in Beslan with a minute of silence, laid flowers at the "Mourning mother" obelisk, brought water and toys.
In memory of those who died, 334 white balloons were traditionally released into the sky.
On this day, requiem services will be held in all churches of the Republic.
