We are closely following the events taking place in recent days in the Syrian Arab Republic.
We proceed from the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of Syria and the peaceful resolution of the political crisis. We express our interest in preserving the unity and territorial integrity of the country and in the establishment of authorities that represent the interests of all Syrians.
Following the information provided by the Ministry of Defence of Syria, on November 27, militants of Hay’et Tahrir al-Sham terrorist organization, in violation of the de-escalation agreement, attacked the territory controlled by the Syrian authorities in the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib.
On 2 October, according to the Syrian Ministry of Defence, the Israeli Air Force launched airstrikes against targets in coastal cities in the west part of the Syrian Arab Republic. As a result of the attack, three civilians were killed and another three people were wounded.
On August 26, the Republic of South Ossetia celebrates the 16th anniversary of recognition of impendence by the Russian Federation.
On August 6, 2024, the Kiev regime launched a massive terrorist attack against Kursk Region of Russia, with AFU units supported by armored vehicles going on the offensive to take over a part of territory of Sudzhansky district. These criminal actions have claimed human lives, including those of civilian population, and resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure.
On July 15, during a ceremony held in the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Belgium, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belgium Alexander Tokovinin awarded Plenipotentiary Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Benelux countries (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg) Radion Pukhaev with “Honor Mark of the Compatriot”.
32 years separate us from that fateful May Day, when the Supreme Council of the Republic of South Ossetia adopted the historic document – the Act of Declaration of Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia.
The Republic of South Ossetia celebrates the Constitution Dayon April 8. The main document of the state was adopted at the nation-wide referendum held on April 8, 2001.
While approving the state’s basic law throughout a free expression of will, the citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia have made a conscious choice in favor of democratic transformations, building of a sovereign state, development and strengthening of institutes of public authority and civil society.
On November 23, South Ossetia celebrates the 34th anniversary of the beginning of the struggle of the South Ossetian people for freedom and the right to live in its land. This is a special date in the history of our Motherland symbolizing unprecedented courage and unity of the nation.
On November 6, 2023, on the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia adjusted to the frontier with Georgia, close to the village of Amdzarin of the Leningor region of the Republic of South Ossetia, during the actions undertaken by a border patrol while detaining violators of the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia, an incident happened as a result of which one Georgian citizen was injured and later died, another was detained.
Today, the South Ossetian nation celebrates a significant date – the 33rd anniversary of the Day of Proclamation of the Republic.
