On 11 October in Geneva, the United Nations Human Rights Council, with the support of the delegations of the European Union, Bulgaria, Japan, Luxembourg and Finland, adopted another resolution entitled “Cooperation with Georgia”, which contains biased statements that do not reflect reality about the so-called occupation of Georgian territories and “human rights violations… in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions of Georgia’.
On October 9, a press conference on the results of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev’s visit to Moscow and meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was held in the press center of the State Committee for Information and Press.
On October8, a meeting of the South Ossetian delegation to the Geneva International Discussions with the Co-Chairs of the Geneva Discussions representing the EU, OSCE and UN was held in Tskhinval.
On 7 October, President of the Republic of South Ossetia A. E. Gagloev hosted a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A. M. Dzhioev.
On 4 October, an award ceremony was held at the Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev presented Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Russian Federation Alkhas Kvitsiniawith the Order of Friendship for his merits in strengthening relations between the peoples of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia as well as for his fruitful diplomatic service.
On 4 October, as part of the programme of the VIII Young Diplomats Forum of Eurasian countries, bilateral consultations were held between representatives of Councils of Young Diplomats of Foreign Ministries of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation. The colleagues discussed areas of cooperation in the format of the Council of Young Diplomats and expressed the hope for further fruitful cooperation.
On 4 October, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A. M. Dzhioev and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation S. V. Lavrov held a meeting in Moscow.
From the South Ossetian side the meeting was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A. V. Tskhovrebov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Z. N. Gassiev.
On 2 October, according to the Syrian Ministry of Defence, the Israeli Air Force launched airstrikes against targets in coastal cities in the west part of the Syrian Arab Republic. As a result of the attack, three civilians were killed and another three people were wounded.
On October 1-4, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia participate in the 8th Young Diplomats Forum of Eurasian countries entitled “Eurasia in the multipolar world: challenges and prospects”, which is held in Moscow.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A. M. Dzhioev addressed a congratulatory letter to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia S. M. Shamba on the occasion of the Victory and Independence Day of the Republic of Abkhazia.
