On June 9, 2024, elections of deputies of the Parliament of the 8th convocation were held in the Republic of South Ossetia. The voting took place at 73 polling stations, including 2 stations opened on territory of the Russian Federation.

On May 29, Akhsar Dzhioev, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister, participated in the ceremony of laying flowers and wreaths to the bust of Torez Kulumbergov, first leader of the Republic, dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Act of Declaration of Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia.

32 years separate us from that fateful May Day, when the Supreme Council of the Republic of South Ossetia adopted the historic document – the Act of Declaration of Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vitaly Ignatiev sent a congratulatory letter to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev on the occasion of the Day of the South Ossetian diplomatic worker.
