On 17 July, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Znaur Gassiev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Nicaragua Narim Kozaev attended a reception at the Embassy of the Republic of Nicaragua in Moscow, marking the 47th anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution.
The reception, held in honour of Nicaragua's national holiday, was attended by representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russian government bodies, parliamentarians, the diplomatic corps accredited in Russia, and public organisations.
On behalf of Acting President of the Republic of South Ossetia Marat Kambolov, Akhsar Dzhioev conveyed greetings and congratulations to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia (concurrently) Alba Torres Mejía. The greetings were addressed to President of the Republic of Nicaragua Commander Daniel Ortega and Co-President of the Republic of Nicaragua Rosario Murillo.
The same day, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia (concurrently) Jesús Salazar Velásquez. The sides exchanged views on the situation in South Ossetia and Venezuela and expressed mutual commitment to further develop South Ossetian-Venezuelan relations.
During the conversation, Akhsar Dzhioev conveyed, on behalf of Acting President of the Republic of South Ossetia Marat Kambolov, words of support to Acting President of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez over the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck Venezuela on 24 June.
Aleksey Vaneev, Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation, also took part in the meeting.
