On December 26, an extended format meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, at which the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev summed up the work of the Ministry in the outgoing year and outlined the main tasks for 2025.
During the meeting the Minister touched upon the main activities of the Foreign Ministry and foreign institutions of the Ministry in 2024.
Having considered the existing extensive legal and contractual framework of the bilateral relations, special attention was drawn to further deepening the strategic partnership and integration ties with the Russian Federation. It was emphasized that in the context of the aggravated military and political tensions across the globe, the Republic of South Ossetia considers the Russian Federation as the only guarantee of its security.
Akhsar Dzhioev emphasized that the development and further strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation with all states with which South Ossetia had established diplomatic relations, as well as systematic work aimed at expanding the number of friendly countries and establishing contacts at various levels remain the Ministry's priorities.
The need to step up information support for foreign policy activities, including through the use of social networks, as well as timely response to information challenges and threats posed by our opponents was confirmed.
In this regard, participation in the International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia, the key objective of which is signing of a legally binding document on non-use of force by Georgia, remains a very important area of the Ministry's work.
The creation of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, the conducted work aimed at enhancing the legal contractual framework of the Ministry, and the results of the competition for inclusion in the personnel reserve in the context of further Ministry's human recourses capacity-building were positively assessed.
At the end of the meeting A. Dzhioev emphasized that inaccordance with the current legislation of the Republic, the Ministry would proceed carrying out the tasks assigned to it by the President of South Ossetia, having noted in this regard the importance of coordinated work of the Ministry, and wished the staff success in the New Year.
