The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev sent a congratulatory letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation.
The letter, in particular, states:
"On September 9, 2008, a new page in the history of our peoples was opened. A solid foundation of allied trusting relations was created, reflecting the commitment of our countries to fully support each other and defend universal values in the name of peace, freedom and justice.
All of these years, the measured and coordinated cooperation between the foreign policy institutions of South Ossetia and Russia comprehensively contributes to expanding and deepenign of the bilateral strategic partnership and intensifying of integration processes."
