Akhsar Dzhioev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, sent a congratulatory letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic Faisal al-Mekdad on the occasion of the Independence Day of Syrian Arab Republic.
The letter, in particular, reads:
“The declaration of Independence of Syria on April 17, 1946 laid a solid foundation for the construction of a sovereign State. On this day, the Syrian people made their choice in favor of freedom, peace, interethnic harmony, and progressive socio-economic development.
Despite all the challenges, incessant external pressure and the difficult international situation, Syria stubbornly and consistently continues to follow its chosen path, firmly and confidently defending its interests in the international arena.
Your Excellency, South Ossetia values the friendly and partnership relations that have developed between our states and highly appreciates the constant support of our country's positions on international platforms”.
Akhsar Dzhioev also sent a congratulatory message to Bashar Jaafari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation.
