10 years have passed since the February 2014 Kiev events, which in the latest Ukrainian mythology were romantically named “the Revolution of Dignity” - the events that later brought down the state independence and sovereignty of Ukraine.
At that time there still remained the possibility of resolving the arisen acute domestic political crisis, that had largely been provoked by member-states of the so-called “anti-Russian coalition”. Despite the fact that a document had been agreed and signed in Kiev to normalize the situation, the attempts to resolve the problematic issues between the authorities on one side and the opposition on the other did not succeed. It is obvious that the implementation of that document was not part of the plans of the “collective West” led by the United States, which, in fact, managed the Kiev Maidan.
“The Revolution of Dignity”, organized under nationalist slogans, not only led to the gravest consequences for Ukraine, but also created a real threat to international stability in the region. With the national radical forces coming to power, the countdown of the self-destruction of Ukraine as a sovereign state and its usage as a factor of destabilization and an instrument of pressure on Russia began.
Since the 2008 Bucharest Summit, Russia has repeatedly tried to convey to the so-called Western partners the thesis of the inadmissibility of changing the neutral status of Ukraine and of the necessity of considering Russia's interests. However, the voice of reason was not heard. Kiev was blocking the implementation of the Minsk agreements on Donbass for 8 years. Years later, former leaders of European countries openly talked about that, emphasizing that the idea had been to provide the Kiev authorities with enough time to pump Ukraine with weapon and to prepare for war against Russia. The catastrophic situation in almost all Ukrainian state–forming spheres, many thousands of victims, including among the civilian population of Donbass, which still has been suffering of barbaric shelling, and the forced conduct of the special military operation by the Russian Federation became the consequences of the above mentioned.
Ukraine has become an instructive example of what can be the result of the abandonment of some country’s own sovereignty in favor of the aggressive anti-Russian policies of other countries, their political associations and military alliances. Kiev does not want to understand in any way that it is impossible to speak or, moreover, to try to solve anything on the Ukrainian problem without Russia.
The unconditional adherence of the Ukrainian authorities to criminal aspirations is one of the components of the general policy of the West to increase threats against Russia. Unfortunately, the countries whose policy of maintaining neutrality in international conflicts was the fundamental basis of their sovereignty and the basic principle of their participation in international affairs, are involved in this rabid anti-Russian hysteria, which includes unprecedented scale of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
The Republic of South Ossetia which has close allied relations with the Russian Federation and whose interests include countering the imposition of a unipolar world order and the dictatorship of the “collective West”, strongly supports the decision of the Russian leadership to conduct the special military operation on protection of the residents of Donbass.
We are convinced that the truth will triumph and the objectives of the operation will be achieved.
