The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A.M. Dzhioev sent a note with words of sincere sympathy and solidarity to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia I.B. Ardzinba on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the Lata Tragedy.
The note, in particular, states:
“December 14, 1992 is one of the most terrible pages in the history of Abkhazia. The death of civilians, women and children who were on board the helicopter shot down by Georgian aggressors will forever remain a living wound in the memory of the people, a deep scar in the hearts of future generations.”
