On October 3, a meeting between the South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev and the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was held in Sochi.
The South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev participated in the meeting.
The parties discussed a wide range of relevant issues of the bilateral relations as well as items, related to regional and international agenda.
In the context of regional security, special attention was drawn to the issue of coordinating activities at the platform of the GID on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia.
Akhsar Dzhioev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, and Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, signed a “Plan of consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for 2024-2025”.
The Plan of consultations provides for intensifying cooperation between foreign policy institutions of the two states in fields of information support for foreign policy activities, organizing joint conferences, as well as cultural and sport events.
The parties agreed on holding consultations on the listed topics regularly.
