On September 30 an extended format meeting between the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev and the President of the Republic of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania was held in Sukhum.
Aslan Bzhania welcomed Alan Gagloev and the South Ossetian delegation, having emphasized the importance of the relations, that had developed between the two fraternal nations.
Alan Gagloev thanked Aslan Bzhania for the warm reception and marked the peoples of South Ossetia and Abkhazia have passed together all the events that had been taking place over the last thirty years, have been supporting each other while defending independence, and wished the people of Abkhazia well-being, tranquility, peace and prosperity.
On the South Ossetian side, the meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev, Minister of Defense Marat Pavlov, Assistant to the President Alan Pliev and Ambassador of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev.
On the Abkhaz side - Vice-President Badra Gunba, Head of the Presidential Administration Abesalom Kvarchia and Foreign Minister Inal Ardzinba participated in the meeting.
