The Minster of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev sent a note of sympathy and support to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vitaly Ignatiev on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Bendery tragedy.
The note, in particular, reads:
“The tragic events that unfolded in the city of Bender on June 19, 1992 have forever been inscribed in the history of Pridnestrovie as an act of war crime that claimed hundreds of human lives and crippled thousands of destinies.
Despite the hardest trials, the Pridnestrovians defended their right to live in their native land. Today, at the background of a difficult international situation, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is making great efforts to develop comprehensively, protect peace and tranquility in its land.
The people of South Ossetia fully understand and realize the value of a peaceful life and, together with the Pridnestrovian brothers, pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the Bendery tragedy”.
