On 4 October, as part of the programme of the VIII Young Diplomats Forum of Eurasian countries, bilateral consultations were held between representatives of Councils of Young Diplomats of Foreign Ministries of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation. The colleagues discussed areas of cooperation in the format of the Council of Young Diplomats and expressed the hope for further fruitful cooperation.
On the final day of the Forum a ceremony of accession of representatives of the South Ossetian MFA to the International Association of Young Diplomats was also held, and the Chairman of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia AlexeySanakoev and his counterpart from the Russian Federation Konstantin Kolpakov signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the organizations.
More than 40 representatives from 15 Eurasian countries participated in the Forum. The event was organized by the Council of Young Diplomats of the Russian Foreign Ministry with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo. The Forum is being implemented within the framework of the concept of “horizontal diplomacy”, which is designed to develop a network of informal communication platforms for young diplomats, government representatives and experts.
