Dmitriy Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, met with representatives of the Ossetian community in France on December 7, 2017 in the House of Associations in Paris.
During the meeting the Minister told about the social and economic situation in South Ossetia, the priority directions of foreign and domestic policy of the Republic, the work on strengthening ties between South Ossetia and Ossetian communities, and answered numerous questions of representatives of the association.
The Minister emphasized that in Ossetia they know well and remember the history of French Ossetians, appreciate their desire to assist in development of the historic motherland, which they had never interrupted communications with, and expressed hope for further close cooperation.
In her turn Laura Arys-Djanaeva, the President of Ossetian Association in France “Alania”, told the Minister about the activities, conducted by the French diaspora, which promote extension and strengthening of contacts between Europe and Ossetia and are aimed to increase the authority and image of their native state, and on behalf of the Association wished peace and prosperity to the people of South Ossetia.
