The official delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia headed by the President Anatoliy Bibilov arrived in Donetsk on May 10 to participate in festivities dedicated to the 3rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Donetsk People's Republic.
May 11 saw Anatoliy Bibilov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, and Alexander Zakharchenko, the President of the Donetsk People's Republic, signing the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Donetsk People's Republic.
In particular, the Treaty provides for further development of relations in political, economic, social, cultural and other spheres of mutual interest.
Murat Dzhioev and Natalya Nikonorova, Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two Republics, signed the Protocol on Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Donetsk People's Republic on the same day.
