On June 29-30, 2021, another round of the International Discussions on Security in the Transcaucasia took place in Geneva. Medoev gave a comment to IA REGNUM regarding the creation of a government commission in Georgia for the development and implementation of the “State strategy for de-occupation and peaceful resolution of conflicts” - a project that, according to its authors, is intended to annul the military-political presence of Russia in the region and would allow Tbilisi to return the lost in 1989 territory.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has information that relatives of the citizen of Georgia Z. Gakheladze, who is serving a sentence in South Ossetia for illegally crossing the state border of South Ossetia and the use of firearms against military personnel of the Republic's border service, being incited by the Georgian authorities and some representatives of the non-governmental sector, are preparing a provocation - an attempt to cross illegally the state border of South Ossetia.
