His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent a message to the President of the Republic of South Ossetia A. I. Bibilov, which contains a request for pardon of the citizen of Georgia Z. Gakheladze, who is serving a sentence in South Ossetia for violating its state border with the use of firearms against the servicemen of the Border Guard Service of the Republic.

On June 29-30, 2021, another round of the International Discussions on Security in the Transcaucasia took place in Geneva. It was attended by delegations from the Republic of South Ossetia, the Republic of Abkhazia, Georgia, the Russian Federation, the United States, as well as representatives of the EU, UN and OSCE. The South Ossetian delegation was headed by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President for post-conflict settlement M.K.

For several years in a row, Georgia has been submitting to the United Nations General Assembly a draft resolution on refugees and displaced persons from Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Repeating from year to year the text of the document, Georgia is trying to impose on the world community a one-sided, politicized and distorted vision of the refugee problem in order to reinforce its illegitimate territorial claims.

On June 8, a working meeting of the South Ossetian delegation at the Geneva International Discussions, headed by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement M.K. Dzhioev, and the Co-Chairs of the Geneva Discussions from the EU, OSCE and UN took place in Tskhinval.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia appeals to foreign governments to take into consideration the tragic date for the Ossetian nation — the centenary of the Ossetian genocide, committed by the Georgian government in 1918-1920. On June 20, 2020, each Ossetian family will commemorate the civilian population of South Ossetia, their loved ones, killed by the Georgian raiders.

On March 5, 2020, President of the Republic of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov signed the Decree establishing the Day of remembrance for the victims of Ossetian Genocide on June 20, the day when Georgian murderers execute 13 Ossetian Kommunars.

To honour the memory of the victims of the genocide, commemoration events will be held on June 20 in the Republic of South Ossetia and in South Ossetia’s foreign agencies; the national flag will fly half-staff, church bells will ring in memory of the innocents murdered, and a minute of silence will be held.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, which, in particular, states that the South Ossetian party confirms the participation of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia A. I. Bibilov in the celebrations dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which will be held on 24 June 2020 in Moscow.

May 20 in South Ossetia is the Day of Memory and Mourning. On this day in 1992, at the height of the Georgian military aggression against South Ossetia, on the bypass road through the village of Zar, a column of refugees from South Ossetia was shot by Georgian extremists. As a result of this barbaric action, 33 people died - mostly children, women, the elderly, about 20 people were seriously injured.
