Akhsar Dzhioev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, sent a congratulatory letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic Faisal al-Mekdad on the occasion of the Independence Day of Syrian Arab Republic.
The letter, in particular, reads:
“April 17, 1946 is a symbol of national unity and fortitude of the courageous freedom-loving Syrian people, who confidently entered the era of building an independent sovereign state on this day.
Despite the difficulties and challenges of the modern historical stage, the Syrian Arab Republic confidently continues to strengthen State institutions, demonstrating its commitment to a just world order, constructive international engagement and the progressive development of creative processes in the ancient beautiful land of Syria.
Mr. Minister, the people of Ossetia will always remember with gratitude the invaluable support that Syria provided to South Ossetia, recognizing its sovereignty and independence.
I am convinced that deepening and expanding the traditionally close and fruitful cooperation between the foreign ministries of our countries will continue to contribute to the development and strengthening of allied and friendly relations between our states and peoples”.
