In 2022, in accordance with the tasks designated by the leadership of the state and in line with the legislation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continued its work to defend and promote the national interests of South Ossetia, to strengthen and develop the mutually beneficial cooperation with the states with which South Ossetia had established diplomatic relations, as well as to expand international contacts.
On December 26, 2022, under the Decree by the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, Andrey Tskhovrebov, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia was conferred a diplomatic rank Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
On December 11-24, 2022 employees of the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry attended professional development courses in the Diplomatic Academy of the MFA of Russia.
On December 18, in Rome, in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy, a protest action against the decision of the EU Council on non-recognition of Russian passports issued, among others, in territories of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, was organized by Mauro Murgia, Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in Italy.
Akhsar Dzhioev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, extended a congratulatory letter to Marat Kulakhmetov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of South Ossetia, on the occasion of the Constitution Day of the Russian Federation.

On November 23, South Ossetia celebrates the 33rd anniversary of the beginning of the South Ossetian people struggle against Georgian aggression. This is one of the most important memorable dates in the history of South Ossetia, which was declared the Day of Courage and National Unity by the Decree of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia on November 23, 2010.
On November 15, a press conference of Akhsar Dzhioev, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister, on the results of his visit to Moscow and the meeting with Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, was held in the press centre of Sputnik South Ossetia IA.
On November 10, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation Ya. A. Demeev participated in a festive reception, organized by the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Vladivostok on the occasion of the Unity Day.
On November 8, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation.
A meeting of the South Ossetian delegation at the GID with the Co-chairs of the Discussions, representing the EU, the OSCE and the UN, took place in Tskhinval on November 8.
Issues, related to organizing the forthcoming 57th round of the Discussion, scheduled for February 2023, were discussed during the meeting.
