On May 20, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev hosted a meeting with Artur Tsallagov, Head of the Department for work with religious organizations and prevention of extremism of the Ministry of National Policy and External Relations of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, and Vyacheslav Dzagoev, Deputy Chairman of the Styr Nyhas public movement, who arrived in Tskhinval for commemorative events in connection with the 32nd anniversary of the Zar tragedy.
A.M. Dzhioev thanked the guests for the arrival, having noted that this was another confirmation of the unity of the people of the two Republics.
It was emphasized that the Zar tragedy is a shared tragedy for the entire Ossetian people, an inhuman and despicable crime that has no statutory limitations.
The importance of further development of integration processes between North and South Ossetia, necessary for preservation of the Ossetian language, traditions and culture, as well as strengthening national unity, was noted.
The meeting was held in a warm, friendly atmosphere.
During the memorial service held at the site of the tragedy near the village of Zar, on behalf of the Head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Sergey Menyailo, representatives of the Republic laid a wreath at Mourning Mother monument.
