On August 26, South Ossetia celebrates one of the main state holidays – the Day of Recognition of the Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation.

On August 25, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev hosted a meeting with the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Republic of Turkey Hosity Burhan and the Representative of the National Cultural Society of Ossetians of Turkey "Alan" Kusaty Hayri, who arrived in South Ossetia to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the recognition of the state independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation.

On August 25, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Nicaragua, headed by Denis Moncada Colindres, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua, who arrived in Tskhinval to participate in the celebrations, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation.

On August 24, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev met with the Head of the Main Foreign Policy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Dmitry Palamarchuk, who arrived Tskhinval at the head of the delegation to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the recognition of the state independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev sent a congratulatory message to the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin on the occasion of his birthday.

The VI Global Forum of Young Diplomats "Diplomacy of the New Multipolar World" was held in Kazan from August 17 to 21. The South Ossetian delegation was represented by A.G.Sanakoev, Head of Department for Cooperation with Foreign Missions of the MFA RSO, D.S.Babutsidze, Consultant of the Department of Foreign Policy Relations of the MFA RSO and the First Secretary of the Embassy of the RSO in the RF S.G.Margiev.

On August 18, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev hosted a meeting with the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Benelux countries Radion Pukhaev.

During the conversation, some aspects of the Representative's work with Ossetian Diasporas in Europe were discussed.

Radion Pukhaev told the President about the work done, as well as plans to hold Days of Ossetian Culture in the BRICS countries.

On August 8, commemorative events, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the beginning of the Georgian military aggression against South Ossetia, were held in foreign missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, while the tragic events of that days were also remembered in friendly states.

Fifteen years ago, the tragic events, which, without any exaggeration, can be called turning points in the recent history of the South Ossetian people, dividing the life of the country into “before” and “after”, took place in South Ossetia.

On July 31, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev hosted a meeting with the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Benelux countries Radion Pukhaev.

During the conversation, some aspects of the Representative's work with Ossetian Diasporas in Europe were discussed, special attention was paid to the prospects for further implementation of various cultural and educational projects.

On July 25, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev met with a former teacher of the Department of Spanish at MGIMO, lawyer Margarita Isaakova, who came to South Ossetia on a study trip.

Margarita Isaakova said that during the year she comes to Ossetia to practice speaking the Ossetian language, which she became interested in studying after a trip to North Ossetia and reading the Nart Epos, as well as the works of Kosta Khetagurov.
