The Republic of South Ossetia expresses its support for the decision of the Russian Federation to conduct the special military operation to protect the residents of Donbass from current nationalist regime of Kiev.
Over recent years, the central authorities of Ukraine, having sacrificed a large part of the state sovereignty and independence of the country, for the sake of their Western allies and patrons, have obediently been following the frenzied anti-Russian campaign, has been deliberately and systematically destroying their own country, not wanting to take into account either the interests of their citizens or the lives and future of the peoples of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
In the current conditions, the actions of the Russian Federation to recognize the independence of these two states and provide them with immediate military assistance have impeccable legal and military-political grounds and are the only remaining opportunity to stop the long-time genocide of the residents of Donbass.
We are also carefully observing the anti-Russian hysteria unfolding in Georgia's ally Ukraine. We consider it necessary to recall that it was Ukraine that in August 2008 provided significant military and political support to Georgia in carrying out a full-scale aggression against the Republic of South Ossetia.
In this regard, we would like to warn the Georgian authorities against trying to inflame the situation and creating new threats to stability and security in the region.
