On July 19, on a working trip to Moscow, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, Dmitrii Medoev, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua, Denis Monkada Kolindres.
During rhe conversation the sides discussed issues of strengthening and expanding of mutual relations.
On July 19, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia D.N. Medoev, during his working trip to Moscow at the invitation of the Nicaraguan side, took part in a gala reception on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the victory of the Sandinista revolution, which was held at the Embassy of Nivaragua in the Russian Federation.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Dmitrii Medoev sent a congratulatory message to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua Mr. Denis Ronaldo Moncada Colindres on the occasion of the Sandinista Revolution Day.

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent a message to the President of the Republic of South Ossetia A. I. Bibilov, which contains a request for pardon of the citizen of Georgia Z. Gakheladze, who is serving a sentence in South Ossetia for violating its state border with the use of firearms against the servicemen of the Border Guard Service of the Republic.

On June 29-30, 2021, another round of the International Discussions on Security in the Transcaucasia took place in Geneva. It was attended by delegations from the Republic of South Ossetia, the Republic of Abkhazia, Georgia, the Russian Federation, the United States, as well as representatives of the EU, UN and OSCE. The South Ossetian delegation was headed by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President for post-conflict settlement M.K.
For several years in a row, Georgia has been submitting to the United Nations General Assembly a draft resolution on refugees and displaced persons from Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
