Press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia

In framework of a working visit to Moscow on March 19-22, Dmitrii Medoev, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister, held a number of important meetings with representatives of government authorities of the Russian Federation in Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs inclusive.

In particular, March 21 saw a meeting of Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, with Georgiy Muradov, the Vice-Chairman of the Council of Minister of the Republic of Crimea, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea to the President of the Russian Federation. Issues, related to participation of the South Ossetian delegation in the forthcoming Yalta International Economic Forum, which will be held in the middle of April 2018.

On March 22 the South Ossetian Foreign Minister met with Sergey Stepashin, the Chairman of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society International Public Organisation. The parties discussed the perspectives of work, conducted by IOPS in the Caucasus in general and in South Ossetia in particular. The Minister noted the significant personal contribution of Sergey Stepashin in organizing aid for the people of South Ossetia after the August War of 2008, which included full support in formation of the South Ossetian Chamber of Control and Accounts.

Later on that day Minister Medoev met with merited polar explorer of the Russian Federation, habilitated doctor in medicine Vladimir Koshelev, organizer of the North Pole and after that the South Pole expeditions in 2008-2009. During the expeditions a citizen of the Republic of South Ossetia Victor Bunin planted the national flag of the Republic of South Ossetia on both Poles of the Earth.

The working visit of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister to the Russian Federation has finished today, and Dmitrii Medoev left for Motherland.
