Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia D.N. Medoev gave a comment to IA REGNUM regarding the creation of a government commission in Georgia for the development and implementation of the “State strategy for de-occupation and peaceful resolution of conflicts” - a project that, according to its authors, is intended to annul the military-political presence of Russia in the region and would allow Tbilisi to return the lost in 1989 territory.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Dmitrii Medoev gave a comment to Sputnik South Ossetia on the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov about Russia's refusal to conduct monitoring flights in the 10-kilometer zone near the borders of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The accusations against South Ossetia and Russia, voiced in the next statement of the Georgian Foreign Ministry, could not surprise anyone with their originality. For at least the last decade, one can observe how Georgian propaganda unsuccessfully tries to reverse the situation and return lost positions to Georgia.

Q:Representatives of the European Court of Human Rights has recently announced that they didn’t find grounds for examining several lawsuits, related to the events of the armed aggression in August 2008, in which citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia accused the Georgian armed forces of life-threating actions. How could you comment on these actions of the ECHR in relation to the South Ossetian citizens?

The European Parliament has prepared a draft resolution, which, inter alia, urges the Georgian authorities to “try to extend the benefits of the AA [EU-Georgia Association Agreement] and the DCFTA [Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area] to the populations of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali Region/South Ossetia”.

As it became known, the draft document on the implementation of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement has been approved by the Foreign Affairs Committee and put on the agenda of the plenary session in Strasbourg this week.

Following a request from Georgian online edition Netgazeti, Dmitrii Medoev, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister commented the statement of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, addressed to “the highest authorities of Russia”.

President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov, during a meeting with the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions, confirmed the firm position of the Republic aimed at a peaceful and civilized solution of all existing issues, said Foreign Minister of the RSO Dmitry Medoev in a comment to the news agency “Res”.
