A press conference of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitriy Medoev for the Italian media was organized in Rome in the representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in Italy on October 18, 2017.

A meeting with Giulietto Chiesa, a representative of the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia in the European Parliament, and a group of Italian friends of South Ossetia took place as well. A diplomatic passport of the Republic of South Ossetia was given to Mr. Chiesa during the meeting.

October 17, 2017 saw a meeting of Dmitriy Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, with Alessandro Bevitori, Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Immigration, and a group of Parliamentarians, representatives of the left-wing Social Democrats, the majority party in the Great and General Council of the Republic of San Marino.

Within the framework of the visit of Dmitriy Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, to Italy, a meeting of the Minister with Alberto Drudi, the Chair of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pesaro -Urbino, the Head of Italian-Russian sector of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, took place on October 16, 2017.

Dmitriy Medoev, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister, is on a working visit to Italy these days.

Pertaining to the results of the 41st round of the Geneva International Discussions

October 10-11, 2017 saw a regular round of the Geneva International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia. A delegation from the Republic of South Ossetia, headed by Murat Dzhioev, the Plenipotentiary of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia on post-conflict settlement, delegations from the Republic of Abkhazia, Georgia, the Russian Federation and the USA as well as representatives of the EU, the UN and the OSCE took part in negotiations.

October 9, 2017 saw Vitaliy Yankovskiy, the Head of the Official Representation of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, presenting a painting 08.08.08 by a famous Soviet and Pridnestrovian artist Gennadiy Zykov, which symbolizes the Georgian aggression against the people of South Ossetia, to the National Museum of the Republic of South Ossetia

Dmitriy Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, hosted a meeting with Vitaliy Yankovskiy, the Head of the Official Representation of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, on October 6, 2017.

Upon the invitation from Vadim Potomskiy, the Governor of the Orel region, Dmitriy Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, participated in the solemnities, dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the Orel region, organized in Orel on September 27, 2017.

September 21, 2017 saw Anatoliy Bibilov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, hosting meetings with official delegations of the Republic of Abkhazia, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Lugansk People’s Republic which arrived in Tskhinval on the occasion of the 27th Anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia.

Dmitriy Medoev, South Ossetian Foreign Minister, hosted a meeting with the official delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia, which arrived in Tskhinval on the occasion of the festivities dedicated to the 27th Anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia.

Adgur Kakoba, the Minister of Education of the Republic of Abkhazia, Oleg Arshba, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and Georgy Dumava, the Assistant of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, were among members of the delegation.

Festivities, dedicated to the 27th Anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia are being held in South Ossetia. The proclamation of the Republic became a logical result of the aggressive Georgian policy, aimed at extirpation of the Ossetian nation, its ancient traditions and culture. This big day ushered in a new era in history of South Ossetia. According to the established tradition, the Day of the Republic is celebrated with a military parade held in South Ossetian capital.

September 19, 2017 saw Petr Gassiev, the Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia, hosting a meeting with Giulietto Chiesa, a political expert, journalist and public person, who among the Italian delegation arrived in Tskhinval to participate in the festivities, dedicated to the 27th Anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia.
