On October 3, a meeting between the South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev and the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was held in Sochi.

The South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev participated in the meeting.

The parties discussed a wide range of relevant issues of the bilateral relations as well as items, related to regional and international agenda.

In the context of regional security, special attention was drawn to the issue of coordinating activities at the platform of the GID on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia. 

On September 30 an extended format meeting between the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev and the President of the Republic of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania was held in Sukhum.

On September 30, the official delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia, headed by President Alan Gagloev, participated in the solemnities, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Victory Day and Independence Day of the Republic of Abkhazia. 

On September 26-29, 2023, the 9th meeting of the Joint South Ossetian-Russian Demarcation Commission (hereinafter referred to as the Joint Commission) was held in Moscow.

On September 29, meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Inal Ardzinba, was held in Sukhum.

Today, the South Ossetian nation celebrates a significant date – the 33rd anniversary of the Day of Proclamation of the Republic.

On September 19, South Ossetia celebrates the National Flag Day.

The flag is one of the most important symbols of the state, along with the Coat of Arms and the anthem.

September 17 marks the 15th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation, which became the first comprehensive basic document that largely defined the principles and priorities of the interstate relations between the two countries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev sent a congratulatory message to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Yvan Gil Pinto on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev sent a congratulatory message to the Nicaraguan Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of South Ossetia Alba Azucena Torres on the occasion of her birthday.
