The South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev sent a congratulatory letter to the Abkhaz Foreign Minister Inal Ardzinba on the occasion the Independence Day of the Republic of Abkhazia.
The letter, in particular, reads:
The victory of the Abkhaz nation in the Patriotic War of 1993 became the most important event, which laid the foundation for peaceful development of the state, for establishment of public institutions, strengthening peace and security in the region. This historic date symbolizes the unparalleled heroism of the people of Abkhazia in its right to life, the right to freedom and independence, the right to speak native language.
Today our fraternal Republic celebrates its holiday, demonstrating high political culture and dynamic social and economic development. While marking with satisfaction the high level of the interstate relations between our states, I am convinced that the friendly relations between South Ossetia and Abkhazia would further be developed and strengthened.
