Following a request from Georgian online edition Netgazeti, Dmitrii Medoev, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister commented the statement of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, addressed to “the highest authorities of Russia”.

Q: - What can you say about the address of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili to the highest authorities of Russia?

President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov, during a meeting with the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions, confirmed the firm position of the Republic aimed at a peaceful and civilized solution of all existing issues, said Foreign Minister of the RSO Dmitry Medoev in a comment to the news agency “Res”.

Murat Dzhioev, the Plenipotentiary of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia on post-conflict settlement, heading the South Ossetian delegation at the GID, met with the Co-Chairs of the Discussions, representing the EU, the OSCE and the UN, in Tskhinval on March 5.

Anatolii Bibilov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, hosted a meeting with the Co-Chairs of the Geneva Discussions on the same day.

Later on that day the delegation visited the Representation of the ICRC in the Republic of South Ossetia.

March 7, 2018 saw another assembly of the executive group, organized at the Direction of Anatolii Bibilov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, dated January 15, 2018 on establishment of an executive group, affiliated with the South Ossetian Presidential Administration, to ensure the holding of the presidential elections in the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia, appointed for March 18, 2018.

On the occasion of termination of his diplomatic mission as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua in the Republic of South Ossetia, Juan Ernesto Vásquez Araya met with Andrey Tskhovrebov, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, in the Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation on March 5, 2018.

March 6, 2018 saw Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, hosting a meeting with Marat Kulakhmetov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in South Ossetia.

During the meeting, where issues of mutual interest were discussed, special attention was drawn to preparing and conducting the forthcoming election of the President of the Russian Federation in the territory of South Ossetia.

The South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitrii Medoev, heading the executive group on ensuring the holding of the presidential elections in the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia, gave an interview to Res IA where told about the work conducted and the importance of this political event for the Republic.

Q: What has been done by the executive group, you are heading, to ensure the holding of the Russian presidential elections in the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia?

Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, hosted a meeting with Alan Elbakiev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Republic of South Ossetia, on March 5, 2018.

The parties exchanged opinion on current level of South Ossetian-Abkhazian relations and discussed issues, related to the bilateral cooperation.

During a working visit to the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitrii Medoev visited the Consular Agency of the Republic of South Ossetia in Vladikavkaz and met with Moris Sanakoev, the Head of the Agency, and employees of the office.

The Minister got acquainted with working conditions and held a working meeting with officers of the Agency.

In framework of the working visit to the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania a meeting of Dmitrii Medoev, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister, with Aslan Tsutsiev, the Minister for National Relations of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, was held on March 1, 2018.

Main attention during the meeting was drawn to the discussion on issues, related to the cultural and educational course Ethnolager 2018, which will be held in June this year.
