The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia extended a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in connection with the 17th anniversary of the tragic events of August 2008.
The note, in particular, reads:
Commemorative events dedicated to the 17th anniversary of the armed aggression of Georgia against South Ossetia will be held in the Republic of South Ossetia on August 7-8.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev extended a congratulatory letter to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov on the occasion of his birthday.

On August 5, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev hosted a meeting with the Head of the ICRC Mission in the Republic of South Ossetia Said Assadullah and the Head of Protection Department of the ICRC Mission in the Republic of South Ossetia Marco Dosljak.
A number of practical issues related to implementation of humanitarian projects of the Mission in South Ossetia as well as relevant aspects of cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
On July 30, bilateral consultations, provided for by the Consultation Plan for 2024-2025 signed between Foreign Ministries of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation, were held in Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From July 25 to August 6, NATO Agile Spirit 2025 exercises will be held in Georgia with the participation of Western Command of the Georgian Defence Forces and the U.S. National Guard. As noted, the goal is to build military capacityand to foster interoperability between the 13 participating states.
