The Israeli airstrikes on the Syrian Arab Republic and, in particular on the territory of the presidential palace and the Defence Ministry in Damascus, are violating the international law and the provisions of the UN Charter.
While expressing support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria and condemning such forceful actions by the Israeli side, fraught with another round of escalation of tension in the Middle East region, we proceed from the need to prevent further negative development of the situation and resolve the existing contradictions exclusively through political and diplomatic means.
