January 18, 2017 saw Murat Dzhioev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, hosting a meeting with Dusan Ignjatovic, an independent international expert, who, upon the OSCE invitation, has been participating in search of the missing as a result of Georgian aggression South Ossetian citizens.
Issues related to the work conducted by the expert in clarifying the destiny of the missing people and the expert’s activity in 2017 were discussed during the meeting.
Narim Kozaev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Republic of Nicaragua, took part in inauguration ceremony of Daniel Ortega that took place in Revolution Square in Managua on January 10, 2017.
On the occasion of the inauguration the Ambassador handed the President of the Republic of Nicaragua a greeting message from Leonid Tibilov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia.
The message reads as follows:
December 30 saw a meeting of officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where Murat Dzhioev, Head of the Ministry, summarized the achievements of 2016 and set tasks for the coming 2017 year.
According to the Minister, year 2016 was rather fruitful for the MFA, as in general, all tasks set by the President of the Republic of South Ossetia and the ruling legislation have been accomplished.
The main objective for the Ministry is development and strengthening of further mutually beneficial cooperation with the states South Ossetia has established diplomatic relations with.
Under the Decree of Leonid Tibilov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, Moris Sanakoev, the Consular agent of the Republic of South Ossetia in Vladikavkaz, was conferred a diplomatic rank Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary on December 7, 2016.

Pertaining to the results of the 38th round of the Geneva International Discussions
South Ossetia party, headed by Murat Dzhioev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, is participating in the 38th round of the Geneva International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia that is taking place on December 13-14, 2016.
December 13 saw bilateral consultations between South Ossetia party and representatives of international organizations and trilateral consultations between delegations of the Republic of South Ossetia, the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation.
A regular session of the OSCE Council of Ministers took place in Hamburg on December 8-9, 2016. The session saw a group of states-friends of Georgia circulating a statement containing appeals to Russia to call back recognition of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia, appeals for “peaceful solution of the conflict” and reorganizing in Georgia “a full-scale OSCE mission”.
Murat Dzhioev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, hosted a meeting with Oleg Botsiev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Republic of Abkhazia, on December 7, 2016.
The Ambassador reported to the Minister about the work conducted by the Embassy, aimed at development of the bilateral cooperation in accordance with the reached agreements.

December 6 saw Murat Dzhioev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Plenipotentiary of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia on post-conflict settlement, hosting a meeting with Marat Kulakhmetov, Counselor of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.
November 24, 2016 saw the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia publishing another quarterly report “on the Human Rights Situation in the Occupied Regions of Georgia”, covering this time the period from July to September of the current year.
The document differs slightly form previous “reports” and completely corresponds to Georgian logic of deliberately creating negative images of states neighboring to Georgia – the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia.
