On August 26, a meeting between the South Ossetian and the Abkhaz Foreign Ministers Akhsar Dzhioev and Sergey Shamba was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.
Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Odyssey Bigvava, Head of the Department of Strategic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Dzhemal Bganba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev participated in the meeting.
Sergey Shamba expressed gratitude to the South Ossetian delegation for coming to celebrate the 16th anniversary of the Day of International Recognition of the Republic of Abkhazia.
In his turn, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev thanked Sergey Shamba for the intention to maintain and develop the relations with South Ossetia and expressed readiness to further deepening of the comprehensive interaction.
During the meeting Akhsar Dzhioev and Sergey Shamba signed “Plan of consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia for 2024-2025”
The document provides for relevant issues of the bilateral agenda, development of the legal-contractual base of the two states, cooperation in the field of consular service, organization of joint science and practical workshops, conferences, round tables etc.
