The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetian sent a note with words of sympathy and support to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in connection with the 32nd anniversary of the Bendery tragedy.
The note, in particular, reads:
“June 19, 1992 is one of the bloodiest dates in the history of Pridnestrovie. On that day, Moldavian nationalists violated all humanitarian principles and that resulted in hundreds of killed and wounded as well as mass destructions.
The Bendery tragedy has united the people of Pridnestrovie even more in their decisive struggle for freedom and independence, for protecting their future, history, culture and language.
On this mournful day, the people of South Ossetia bow their heads in memory of the valiant defenders of Pridnestrovie and sincerely grieves for the victims of the Bendery tragedy.”
