The statements made by the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, in which he unequivocally noted, addressing the “Abkhaz and Ossetian brothers and sisters,” that “the enemy of our unity is our common enemy,” and once again touched upon the topic of “occupation of Georgia” were not left without attention.
Unfortunately, we have to admit that the Georgian authorities cannot get rid of their “phantom sensations” and accept the geopolitical realities that established in the region after August 2008. The Ossetian people, who have experienced Georgia’s “peace-loving” attitude more than once, perfectly understand the true meaning and value of such words.
We reaffirm the invariability of the South Ossetia’s course towards strengthening friendly relations with the Russian Federation, which is the guarantor of peace and security.
