Murat Dzhioev, the Plenipotentiary of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia on post-conflict settlement, heading South Ossetian mission, hosted a meeting with the Co-Chairmen of the Geneva International Discussions representing the EU, OSCE and the UN, who arrived to Tskhinval within a visit anticipating the coming round of the Discussions, on June, 11.
Issues concerning security about South Ossetia-Georgian border and the agenda of the coming 32nd round of the discussions, which are planned for June, 1, were talked over.
Once again was stated that a legally binding document on non-use of force has to be signed between Georgia and South Ossetia to maintain security and stability in the region in the sign of Georgian steps in establishing closer cooperation with NATO.
Despite the stable situation about the border in general, the parties marked the necessity of continuing efforts on easing tensions in frontier zones. Here the importance of regular work conducted upon IPRM should be noted.
South Ossetia party condemned once again the results of recent voting on the draft resolution on refugees presented by Georgia in the UN General Assembly. The unconstructive position of Georgian party which annually tries to turn the problem of refugees into a political issue, makes negotiations on this humanitarian problem within the Geneva Discussions - the unique international platform where all parties interested in solving the problem are presented, unlike the UN General Assembly, where representatives of South Ossetia and Abkhazia are not participating, meaningless and impossible.
Within the framework of the visit the Co-chairmen met with relatives of missing citizens of South Ossetia.
Leonid Tibilov, the President of the Republic, also hosted a meeting with the delegation.
The same day the Co-chairmen went to the Leningor region of the Republic to examine the situation on-site.
Humanitarian terms in general and issues of missing people as well as illegally convicted by Georgian courts citizens of RSO were discussed.
