April, 21 has seen opening of a photo exhibition “South Ossetia: the Country and People” prepared by Italian photographer Leonardo Mattioli. The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RSO together with Italy - South Ossetia Friendship Society, with assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the RSO in cinema and concert hall “Chermen”.
Alan Kochiev, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Erik Pukhaev, the Deputy Prime Minister, Madina Ostaeva, the Minister of Culture, Professor Mauro Murgia, the President of Italy - South Ossetia Friendship Society, and public representatives participated in the ceremony.
In his opening speech the Deputy Minister expressed words of gratitude to all organizers and noted that cultural exchanges always help in strengthening and developing friendly communication between nations and establishing interstate relations.
The exposition is an original reflection of the Italian photographer’s impressions of a short trip made to South Ossetia in 2014. Earlier the photos were exhibited in San Marino and Sardinia.
Admission to the exhibition that will work till April, 27, is free.
