On 10 August 2013 police vehicle of the MIA crossed State border of the RSO from territory bordering with Georgia in village Artsev, Tskhinval region. The vehicle ignored numerous requests to leave territory of South Ossetia. Border guards of the RSO KGB border service had to make a warning shot into the air, only after that the trespassers returned to territory of Georgia. The incident was observed by EU Mission monitors.
Unfortunately, this is not the only provocative incident when representatives of Georgian armed forces try to violate border of Republic of South Ossetia.
On 12 August was carried an emergency IPRM meeting on the occurrences of this incident, where South Ossetian side proved the accountability of Georgian police. Nevertheless, MIA of Georgia made a statement where the incident information was turned upside down. MIA of Georgia is traditionally accusing in the incident the Russian military forces and South Ossetian authorities.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of South Ossetia represents and warrants that any approximation to state border of sovereign territory of South Ossetia by unknown people contains signs of provocation and will get an appropriate reaction.
The distorted and flawed position of the Georgian side confirms the inability of Georgian authorities to acknowledge the reality.
