On 16 May 2013 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of South Ossetia Mr. David Sanakoev arrived with an official visit to Sukhum, where he participated in celebrations related to 20th anniversary since establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.
During the visit Minister of Foreign Affairs of RSO D. G. Sanakoev met with the Minister of Foreign Affaiars of RA V. L. Chikirba, during the meeting they discussed bilateral cooperation and signed Consultation Schedule for 2013.
On 17 May David Sanakoev Minister of Foreign Affairs of RSO was awarded a Medal of Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for contribution to development of international cooperation and diplomatic service.
For development of international cooperation and diplomatic service the Medal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also awarded to Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Republic of South Ossetia in Republic of Abkhazia Mr. Oleg Botsiev.
