Announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia

On appointment of Mr. Oleg Botsiev as an Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of South Ossetia in Republic of Abkhazia.

On 15 April 2013 by a Decree of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia L. Tibilov Botsiev Oleg Ilich was appointed as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of South Ossetia in Republic of Abkhazia.

Short biodata:

Botsiev Oleg was born on 26 March 1954 in Tkvarchal town of Abkhaz ASSR.

In 1976 graduated from Kharkov State University (mechanical faculty).

During 1976 – 1979 – senior workmaster, deputy head at secret manufacture.

During 1979 – 1984 – head of manufacture at ‘Tochpribor’ factory.

From 1984 to 1989 – chief engineer at depot ‘Turist’, from 1989 to 1992 – director of deport ‘Turist’.

In 1992 – deputy minister of transport and communication of Abkhazia.

In 1994 – 1995 – head of department at the Ministry of Defense of Abkhazia.

From 1995 to 1998 – senior referent at the Cabinet of Council, after that from 1999 – Minister of Labour and Social Protection.

In 2002 – 2005 – head of Cabinet of Council apparat of Republic of Abkhazia.

From 2007 – adviser-envoy of the Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia in Republic of Abkhazia. Has a diplomatic rank of an Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Envoy.

Marital status: married, has a son.

Awardee of RA and RF State awards.
