August 15-17, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Republic of South Ossetia Hugo Jose Garcia Hernandez paid a working visit to South Ossetia.
During the visit, Ambassador Hernandez was received by the President of the Republic of South Ossetia L.Kh. Tibilov. He also had a talk to the Minister of Foreign Affairs D.G. Sanakoyev.
At the meetings, the sides discussed the key aspects of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. They stated their intention to contribute to its further progressive development taking into account available considerable potential, they confirmed the mutual desire to intensify political, trade, economic and cultural relations and the need to further deepen of the partnership between South Ossetia and Venezuela in various fields.
They outlined practical steps on implementation of the provisions of the General Agreement on cooperation between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which was signed in 2010. The opening of the Embassy of South Ossetia in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Caracas in the near future was also addressed.
A screening of the film “Play and Fight", created by the Venezuelan Film Centre took place during the visit.
