On 7 November, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev, who is on a working visit to Moscow, visited Moscow State Institute of International Relations run by the Russian Foreign Ministry, where he met with students from South Ossetia.
The meeting was also attended by Head of the International Department of MGIMO Egor Andreyev, Vice-Rector for Students’ Development and International Affairs of MGIMO Stanislav Surovtsev, Advisor to the Rector of MGIMO Andrey Reshetnyak and Advisor to the Embassy of South Ossetia in Russia Denis Dolgushev.
In the course of the informal conversation, the students shared their stories of study at the university and life in Moscow, and asked questions of interest, including those related to the foreign policy of the Republic.
Akhsar Dzhioev, in particular, explained the main directions of the Ministy’s work, the primary tasks facing the diplomatic department and spoke in detail about the South Ossetian-Russian relations.
The Minister also enquired about the students’; progress, their problems, future plans and promised to provide all possible support from his side.
At the end of the meeting A. Dzhioev called on the young people to represent the Republic with dignity and to study well in order to successfully realize themselves for the benefit of their families and homeland.
The students warmly thanked for the meeting and asked for a joint photo as a keepsake.
