On 4 October, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A. M. Dzhioev and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation S. V. Lavrov held a meeting in Moscow.
From the South Ossetian side the meeting was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A. V. Tskhovrebov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Z. N. Gassiev.
A wide range of current issues of bilateral South Ossetian-Russian relations was discussed, parties exchanged views on international and regional problems.
Sergey Lavrov expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Republic of South Ossetia for the actions in support of the Special Military Operation.
It was especially stressed that the decision of the Russian leadership of 2008 on the recognition of sovereignty and independence of South Ossetia is not subject to revision, Russia will continue to assist South Ossetia in strengthening its statehood, as well as in issues of ensuring security as well as social and economic development in accordance with the bilateral agreements.
During the meeting the mutual intention of the parties to continue the traditionally close coordinationof the foreign policy departments was confirmed.
The meeting was held in a friendly and highly constructive atmosphere.
