On June 22, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Znaur Gassiev took part in commemorative events dedicated to the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People in Brest (Belarus).
On behalf of the people of South Ossetia, flowers were laid at the Eternal Flame in the Brest Hero Fortress memorial complex.
In honor of the war heroes, a requiem rally "Be worthy of the memory of the fallen" was held in the memorial complex, as well as a military-historical reconstruction of the defense of the Brest Fortress at the Kobrin fortification of the Brest Hero Fortress.
More than 30 official delegations, including representatives of the Federation Council, the State Duma, the Standing Committee of the Union State, the Investigative Committees of Belarus and Russia, and other guests arrived at the events dedicated to the 82nd anniversary of the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War.
