On May 24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia hosted a quadrilateral meeting between Foreign Ministers of the Republic of South Ossetia, the Republic of Artsakh, the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Lugansk People’s Republic – Dmitrii Medoev, David Babayan, Nataliya Nikonorova and Vladislav Deinego.
In his opening speech Dmitrii Medoev thanked the guests for participation in the solemn ceremony of inauguration of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia and expressed confidence that the meeting was a good opportunity to discuss a range of issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting the parties expressed substantial opinion on key elements of international and regional agenda. Special attention was paid to the discussion of issues, related to the situation in Donbass, the comprehensive settlement of the Azebaijan-Karabakh conflict and the decisive role of Russian in destinies of the Republics, including in relation to maintaining security and stability in South Caucasus.
The parties reaffirmed their firm positions in relation of the inaccessibility of imposing unilateral sanctions violating the UN Charter and general principles and norms of the international legislation, emphasized the counterproductiveness of further approximation of NATO infrastructure to state borders.
At the end of the meeting the parties confirmed their aspiration to maintain on regular basis dialogue on relevant issues of the international agenda.
