Currently, due to the suspension of air traffic with a number of foreign states, citizens of the Russian Federation temporarily staying in third countries are having difficulty returning to the Russian Federation by air. At the same time, foreign citizens transiting through the territory of the Russian Federation to their homeland face similar problem.
In this regard, citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia, who simultaneously have Russian citizenship, can contact the tour operator, airline, diplomatic mission or consular agency of the Russian Federation in their country of residence regarding their return. If the listed options are not suitable for solving the problem, they can leave a request on the help.mid.ru portal. At the same time, in accordance with the bilateral agreements between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation, citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia who do not have Russian citizenship are entitled to address diplomatic missions or consular offices of the Russian Federation for the protection of their rights and interests.
Also, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has opened a “hot line” for requests to ensure the evacuation of the civilian population and address humanitarian issues related to the conduct of the special military operation on the territory of Ukraine.
